Our restaurant has an excellent reputation that stretches well beyond our region (just check it out on TripAdvisor). In fact, the restaurant alone attracts tourists from all over the world. We have many returning guests — tourists and locals alike. You also must try our year-round gourmet buffet where you can taste the seasonal specialties of our region.

  • In spring (March through June) it's all about asparagus
  • In July we craft exceptional dishes with our cherries. And we don't limit ourselves to desserts: sample our roasted boar or venison with cherry sauce.
  • Because our town is one of Germany's leading hop producers, in August and September we offer dishes designed around hops, malt and beer.
  • In November and December, the seasonal menu boasts select game dishes: wild duck, roasted goose, chamois, venison, boar and even reindeer..
  • In January and February we often offer steaks sourced from regional cattle.

Our cuisine is versatile. Beyond the Bavarian-style dishes we offer, we also have an excellent reputation for fresh salads, vegetarian dishes, ramp specialties and fish from our lakes. Since dinners in Franconia should be paired with local beers, the menu includes local Franconian beer varieties and wine from Franconia.

Schnapsbrenner is a B&B with a restaurant that serves Franconian (aka Bavarian) cuisine and specialties. All double rooms have Wifi and are furnished in a charming country style with natural wood. Beds are extra long to accommodate taller guests. In addition to our standard rooms, there is a two-room vacation apartment for families.

Schnapsbrenner's restaurant and accommodations are part of our farming business, which includes asparagus crops and fruit orchards. We deliver our cherries, plums, pears and apples to many vendors in our region and produce a rich selection of preserves. Of course we also have to concoct spirits and liquors from our own fruit because our name, Schnapsbrenner, means distillery!

In our shop (Hofladen, which means farm shop) you can buy all our home-made products and lots of delicacies from regional suppliers.

The historic town of Spalt has beautiful timber-frame houses and medieval churches. It is located in the Franconian Lake District, where you will find a wide variety of sports and leisure opportunities, plus historic places to visit. And it's only a few minute's ride to the largest lake, Großer Brombachsee.
